Debbie was brought up close to the sea on the north Wales coast. Her passion for cooking and using local ingredients was born out of spending time with her mother, picking and preserving fruit to make into delicious jams and pickles. Debbie and her husband Phil run Mostyn Kitchen Garden, growing a variety of fruit and vegetables for their handmade, high quality preserves and offering local people the opportunity to get involved through Pick Your Own events through the year.
Through her other work, Debbie works across Wales with farmers on a knowledge transfer programme, offering a chance to develop horticultural activities, thereby increasing the amount of fresh produce being grown in the country. She’s a keen supporter of sustainable farming, always looking to embed biodiversity and regenerative practices.
