Taste Causeway is now an accredited Slow Food destination, one of only a handful of destinations in Ireland to be awarded the accolade by the global Slow Food Movement.  Slow Food stands for Good, Clean and Fair food, and supporting the artisan producer, of which Causeway has in abundance.

All the producers who will be part of the scheme will be vetted to ensure that they meet the global standards of the Slow Food organisation. Shane Holland Chairman of Slow Food in the UK said “We are delighted to see the formation of a Slow Food group in an area with such outstanding produce, and where consumers are looking for genuinely good local food.  With the support of Taste Causeway we will see retailers sporting Slow Food supporters logos so consumers can easily find great local food which sustains the local economy, and acts as a quality marque that food is produced to the highest standards.”

Slow Food in NI is headed by Paula McIntyre who says “ I’m delighted about the formation of Slow Food Causeway. Having worked closely with the producers of the Taste Causeway food network, their ethics and attention to great provenance is the perfect fit for Slow Food. I look forward to supporting them in their endeavours”
