Welcome to La Locanda, the family-owned Italian restaurant where Agrichef Maurizio Bocchi and his wife Cinzia, have been proudly sharing the authentic flavours, traditions and hospitality of Italy since 2003.

Awarded the prestigious Ospitalità Italiana certification by the Italian Government and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the UK, La Locanda is recognised as one of a select number of restaurants committed to preserving and promoting genuine Italian cuisine and culture outside Italy.

Everything we do is guided by the principles of authenticity, provenance and sustainability. Our menus celebrate the extraordinary diversity of Italy’s regional cooking, with recipes inspired by generations of family tradition and prepared using time-honoured techniques alongside the very best seasonal ingredients.

We believe exceptional Italian food begins with exceptional ingredients. Wherever possible we source fresh produce from trusted local Lancashire farmers and artisan suppliers, while importing many of our specialist ingredients directly from small Italian producers who share our commitment to quality, biodiversity and traditional methods of production. From extra virgin olive oil and artisan cheeses to regional cured meats, flour and wines, every ingredient has been chosen because it tells the story of the place and the people who produced it.

As proud supporters of Slow Food, we believe food should be good, clean and fair. We value the provenance of every ingredient, the welfare of the animals, the care taken by the producer and the traditions that have shaped each recipe. We believe every meal should connect us with the land, the seasons and the communities that make authentic food possible.

Dining at La Locanda is about much more than eating well. It is about taking time to enjoy the company of family and friends, discovering the rich culinary heritage of Italy and experiencing genuine Italian hospitality. We are always delighted to share the stories behind our dishes, explain regional specialities and introduce guests to ingredients and flavours they may never have experienced before.

Our aim is simple – to offer an authentic taste of Italy while championing local producers, supporting artisan food traditions and celebrating the values that sit at the heart of the Slow Food movement. We hope every visit leaves you with not only a memorable meal, but a deeper appreciation of Italy’s remarkable food culture and the people who keep it alive.
