Hobsons Brewery is an independent local brewery founded in the Shropshire town of Cleobury Mortimer by Nick Davis and his Dad Jim in 1993. Today, Hobsons employs a close-knit team of 22 people to run one of the largest breweries in the county.

With over 28 years of brewing under our hat, Hobsons has grown to become a leading brewer in our region. We produce a range of cask, keg and bottled beers on site; with an excellent range of hoppy beers, pale ales, dark stout, porters and seasonal brews. All of our beers are brewed using locally grown Maris Otter Malting barley, 80% are with British hops from Brook House Hops (some 20 miles away) and Hobsons House Yeast – a completely unique ingredient to our beers with its own flavour characteristic.

Our commitment to sustainability has been recognised by SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers), with Hobsons winning SIBA Best Green Business in 2010 and again in 2021! We have also been awarded the Blue Marches Water Efficiency Award 2020 for our commitment to being Green.

Sustainability and locality is a big part of what we stand for, all of our beers are brewed by local people using local ingredients with a backbone of sustainable technologies. With a wind turbine on site not only are you enjoying great beer but it’s being produced by green energy; with the turbine generating one third of the electricity needed to create each bottle of Hobsons beer.

You can enjoy Hobsons beer knowing you’re supporting a brewery that cares about the world around us.
