How they got into producing Morecambe Bay Shrimp and why they chose this particular product:
Furness Fish and Game is a family run business started back in 1984 by Les Salisbury, who had been fishing for shrimps in Morecambe Bay since he was a boy. Furnish Fish and Game used to send their freshly caught shrimps to a factory to produce potted shrimps, and when the factory eventually closed they bought it to start producing themselves. Tradition and quality both define the Potted Shrimp produced today. The shrimp are expertly caught and although the horse and cart has been replaced by a tractor the same traditional production methods are still used. They now produce over 2000 pots a day doing all the potting by hand to a traditional 100 year old recipe.
