How Trevor got into producing Jersey Black Butter and why he chose this particular product:
Trevor took over La Mare Wine Estate after its founder, Richard Blayney, retired in 1997. The estate is an incredible combination of history and tradition, with beautiful gardens, historic buildings and extensive vineyards and orchards. For Trevor Jersey Black Butter is not only only important in gastronomic terms, but is representative of the now declining, traditional rural culture of the Island. Trevor and his team are dedicated to preserving Jersey’s rich culinary heritage and the culture that surrounds this, and want to use the resources on the estate to produce an array of products which celebrate the best of Jersey.
Products that Trevor is offering:
La Mare Wine Estate has a range of products all made on the estate. Jersey Black Butter is available to buy on the website along with other products such as fudge and biscuits made using the product. The website also offers a range of delicious products such as wines, ciders, liqueurs and chocolates.
Trevor’s favourite Jersey Black Butter recipe:
A favorite at the La Mare Wine Estate is Jersey Black Creme Brulee.
