How Jonathan got into producing Single and Double Gloucester cheese why he chose this particular product:
Jonathan is passionate about his beautiful rare breed Old Gloucester cows and so using their milk to produce his Single and Double Gloucester Cheese was a natural progression. Standish Park Farm is located on the edge of the Cotswolds Hills, overlooking the Berkeley Vale. This provides the perfect location for Jonathan to rear his 50 Old Gloucester cows, where they can graze on the permanent pastures, and on hay at winter. Jonathan makes sure he only uses good old farm manure, no artificial fertilizers or chemicals, resulting in a better quality of milk which is perfect for cheese making. By caring about every detail from what the cows eat to how the final cheese is made, Jonathan is able to produce cheese of the highest quality. Both the Single and Double Gloucester Cheese have won first prizes at the Annual Farming Awards – and so did his cows!
