John Pratt

John Pratt is Head Chef of the Traddock – a Yorkshire Dales Country House hotel in the beautiful village of Austwick in the North Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Leeds born chef John trained at the city’s well known Thomas Danby College before honing his skills in a number of restaurants and hotels around the country, including a decade in London where he was involved in opening and establishing innovative restaurants and gastropubs within the city centre. A passionate advocate for local and seasonal produce, he returned to his Northern roots in 2000, where his award winning cooking features a blend of well researched traditional and classical dishes with a modern , fresh touch and a simplicity of presentation. John lives in Kirkby Lonsdale with partner Ken where they spend time working in their kitchen gardens.
