Our friend and colleague Ursula Hudson passed away last weekend after a long fight with illness.
In more recent years she was both on the International Executive Committee of Slow Food, and President of Slow Food Germany. Many in the UK will know her from her involvement in Slow Food Sussex and on the board of Slow Food UK, a position she held for five years.
She taught in universities both here in the UK, and in Germany, and she showed much love and enthusiasm for both the food and culture of both countries.
She was a tireless campaigner for Good, Clean and Fair food, and had the knack to cut through to the very heart of any issue – the fruits of her wisdom and her inspiration to so many, particularly younger people and women will continue for decades to come.
She was surrounded by the love of her family – her husband and son – when she passed.
Our thoughts are with everyone who knew Ursula, and those whose lives she touched.
The hearts of all in the Slow Food family are broken.
