Slow Food Week 2015

This year’s Slow Food Week – now in its 5th edition – has been announced to take place from Sunday 1st to Monday 7th June.
During the week, our network of local groups, producers, chefs and other supporting businesses and organisations will showcase the diversity within our movement with a wide range of events around the UK, while several new foods and chefs will become part the Ark of Taste programme and Chef Alliance programmes.
Providing a forum to reinforce Slow Food’s work supporting traditional, local, artisan producers to help preserve British edible biodiversity, farm and tasting tours, lectures, dinner, celebrations and fund-raisers will be taking place in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Just a few of the events planned so far:
3rd of June to 6th June Slow Food London goes to Borough Market – taking over the Pod with festivals of Cheese, Meat and daily giveaways
4th of June SF Edinburgh Slow Food Film night “Voices of Transition”
6th of June SF London Dinner at Petersham Nurseries – Limited Places
6th of June – SF Berkshire-Wiltshire – Farm tour
6th of June – SF East Anglia – Food & Drink festival
7th of June – SF Edinburgh – Sunday Sundae
SF Edinburgh,Slow Food competition – Cafe st Honore, Chef Neil Forbes
Other initiatives include Slow Food menus running for the whole week at the following restaurants:
SF London, Chamberlain’s Restaurant, Leadenhall Market, London with Chef Alliance Member Andrew Jones with £1 per Slow Food Dish going to Slow Food
SF London, Chef Alliance Member Tom Aikens has special Slow Food dishes all week in each of Tom’s Kitchen
