Slow Food West Scotland is the result of the merge of the Glasgow and Ayrshire groups, and is led by Howard Wilkinson and Brenda Anderson. The group has organised events such as a Family Day with planting, a farm tour and a hog roast. They have also organised in the past a ‘Grow it, Cook it, Eat it!’ event, in which people had the chance to learn about growing vegetables, took part in a guided food walk and met local brewers, whisky distillers and food producers amongst other activities. Other events included film nights, a summer Sunday Brunch and a Scottish whisky tasting.
