Aylsham
Slow Food Aylsham, founded in 2004, is a vibrant organisation which organises a number of events for the public and its members throughout the year.
Aylsham Food Festival, a three day event held during the first weekend in October is organised by Slow Food Aylsham. It usually includes the Aylsham Country Market, a meal at the local High School, prepared and served by the students, a Farmers’ Market, a Saturday morning in the Town Hall which has in the past featured cooking theatres and The Taste Adventure, and the Sunday morning ‘Big Slow Breakfast’.
During the year we run events for our members which have included visits to local businesses like Letheringsett Mill, Papworth Farm and Nortons’ Dairy.
A food and drink themed Quiz Night, a repeat of the Big Slow Breakfast and an ‘Upstairs Downstairs’ evening have been among the other events we have organised and which have been open to the public.
Over 1500 people visited St Michael and All Angels Parish Church in Aylsham during its Flower Festival Week at the end of May. The whole of the inside of the church featured stunning flower arrangements, including a Slow Food Aylsham display which had been created by Slow Food member Richard Anderson-Dungar.
