Slow Food UK Chef Alliance
Slow Food UK Chef Alliance
Slow Food UK has developed the Chef Alliance to engage British based chefs in actively supporting our cause by championing small-scale producers, and working within their communities to promote good quality local and sustainably produced food.
The Chef Alliance invites chefs who share our Slow Food ethos and are keen to work with with our Forgotten Foods programme. We encourage our chefs to use seasonal Forgotten Foods in their menus, helping us to raise the profiles of these traditionally British products. Along the way we have been forging new relationships between chefs and producers, creating the important foundations to help protect and defend our edible biodiversity.
Slow Food UK is delighted with the growth and reach of the Chef Alliance throughout Britain. The underlying success of this project is simply that the chefs find it rewarding to spread the Slow Food message; a message, they naturally relate to. Spokesperson Richard Corrigan and all our other Chef Alliance members have already made a significant contribution towards the Slow Food cause and are continuously working to help preserve our culinary diversity - Eat it or Lose it!
