Slow Food UK
BBC Good Food Show

Calling all Good, Clean and Fair producers!

Your chance to be awarded a free stand at the BBC Good Food Summer Show, 11 – 15 June 2008, NEC, Birmingham.

The BBC Good Food Show and Slow Food UK are offering producers of Good, Clean and Fair food the chance to exhibit at the BBC Good Food Summer Show, 11–15 June at the NEC, Birmingham, for free.

This is a special Bursary Award, created to give producers of exceptional quality food and drink the chance to showcase their products to a wide audience, with minimal costs. The stand will be completely free, thereby giving small producers a huge incentive to promote their products where they may not normally be able to afford it. Over 150,000 people will come to this show, so it represents a great business opportunity to access a cross-section of the British public.

As Slow Food members and leaders, we would like you to help us track down the producers of traditional, regional foods that meet the Good, Clean and Fair criteria (see the General Principles for Selection document) and encourage them to apply.

Producers should complete the Bursary application form, together with the relevant Product Selection Form (such as Meat, Fish or Bread - see the links panel on the right), and return these to Fiona Richmond, Slow Food UK, Unit 3, Alliance Court, Eco Park Road, Ludlow, Shropshire, SY8 1AT. Applications must be submitted by 25th April, so hurry!

The final selection will take place towards the end of April, and producers will be notified by telephone and email by Friday 2nd May.  Successful applicants will then be sent a booking form with the show terms and conditions.

As only a few awards are available, demand will be high, but if producers aren’t selected, all is not lost as we can offer another great incentive to exhibit.

We are delighted to offer a further number of stands in the Slow Food UK pavilion, a special area with specially selected Good, Clean and Fair producers, at the fantastic, reduced rate of £150 per square metre. More details of this package are available on request from Katy Truss at BBC Haymarket Exhibitions, 22 Bute Gardens, Hammersmith, W6 7HN or, alternatively, producers should indicate their interest on the Bursary application form.

For further information about the Bursary award, please contact Fiona Richmond on e-mail: f.richmond@slowfood.org.uk; Tel: 01584 879599, and you can find out more about the BBC Good Food Summer Show here.

Thank you for helping us in our search, and we look forward to welcoming your outstanding producers to the Show in June!
