SLOW FOOD ON CAMPUS at University of Reading Freshers’ Fair

On Thursday 4^nd October we will be running a stall with students at the University of Reading Freshers’ Fair.  Located in Whiteknights Campus Students’ Union. Members from the local Berkshire and Wiltshire Slow Food group will also be popping down to help out. Having already attended Liverpool John Moore University and Portsmouth University Freshers’ Fairs, it is likely to be a great success.

Student Freshers’ Fairs are an ideal way of promoting and spreading the awareness about SF on Campus and the opportunities students can get involved with.  Grana Padano, Slow Food UK’s valued sponsor, will provide a 20 kilo wheel of Grana Padano to sample, which will indeed entice the students!

There are already a number groups up and running at Universities around the UK, however we are always looking to expand and generate more interest.  Examples of on-campus events include themed evenings such as ‘Come Veg with Me!’ (an evening of vegetarian cooking), wine-tasting nights and organising cooking events with local chefs.
