On Sunday 14 October 2012 we will be running a Slow Food Kids’ Taste Adventure in partnership with Grana Padano at the stunning Ham House and Garden, a National Trust property. The Taste Adventure is a part of the Home Grown Festival, which is a great foodie day out for the whole family.
The Slow Food Kids’ Taste Adventure is a fun and interactive activity which brings the senses to life. It is aimed at 4 to 11 year olds but loved just as much by the big kids among us!
The adventure encourages children to think about food as they journey through five interactive zones, based on the five senses: taste, sight, touch, smell and hearing. Kids collect stamps on their Slow Food Kids’ Taste Adventure passports as they explore their senses and make new food discoveries.
Whilst children enjoy the Slow Food Kids’ Taste Adventure; looking, touching, smelling, feeling and finally tasting different foods, their parents can learn more about the Slow Food movement and the way it works in the UK particularly.
Working with our partner, Grana Padano everyone will also be able to sample this delicious cheese produced in Northern Italy. Grana Padano strongly supports Slow Food UK’s education programmes and the Slow Food Kids’ Taste Adventure.
If you’d like to help out with Taste Adventure at this magnificent, historic venue, do let us know, we’d be delighted to have you join us! To volunteer, please email: education@slowfood.org.uk
