Supporter News

Slow Food UK is pleased to announce that its activities are now supported by The Balvenie, Grana Padano and Lavazza. For press release please see our Press Page.

The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the first UK supporter of Slow Food UK. It is unlike all other single malt Scotch whiskies thanks to a unique combination of human craft and natural alchemy. Based in Speyside, Banffshire, it is the only distillery to still grow its own barley, malt in its own traditional floor maltings and employ a team of coopers to tend all the casks and a coppersmith to maintain the stills.

Grana Padano has been part of Italy's proud gastronomic tradition and culture since the dawn of the second millennium, and has grown alongside the milk and dairy industry. Based in Lombardy, Italy, Grana Padano is a consortium which now represents over 200 Grana Padano cheese producers, maturers and retailers. Grana Padano is also a supporter of Slow Food International.

Founded in 1895 in Turin, Italy, Lavazza's principle focus has always been on producing the highest quality coffee. With its Tierra range, family-owned Lavazza has been working with small coffee growing communities to improve living standards and product quality. Lavazza is also a supporter of Slow Food International.
