The Good Life in Sussex, by local leader Michael Little

The Good Life in Sussex, by local leader Michael Little Community food growers from Hastings and Fairlight (led by Slow Food Weald of Kent & Sussex) recently met with academics from the Brighton and Sussex Food Research Network to visit Tablehurst Community Farm, near East Grinstead.

Survey: 70.6% of Slow Food followers would eat horsemeat if appropriately labelled

Recently there has been a lot of news about issues in the meat supply chain. We wondered if and how Slow Food followers had been influenced by these events and so last month we asked you on Facebook and Twitter to answer a short survey about your meat consumption habits. Here are the results.

An overwhelming majority of the survey participants, 70.6%, replied that they would consider eating horsemeat if it was appropriately labelled, suggesting that for most people, the problem was the labeling being misleading, not that they wouldn’t eat horsemeat.
Secondly, 56% of our followers said that they eat meat two to four times a week,  17.9% do it five or more times,
